Delirium is pervasive within critical care and acute care settings, with research suggesting the incidence of delirium can be as high as 60-80% of ventilated patients. The purpose of this presentation is to educate occupational therapy (OT) practitioners on the profound impact delirium has on patient function, psychological well-being, and long term functional outcomes, while illustrating the unique value OT has in delirium prevention and management.
